machined steps for climbing stick

That's it. The design is better setup to weld the steps on 1in sq. alum tube as the tolerance on the alum tube isn't overly 'tight', but it works also with a bolt and my one sticks that use those are among my favorite setups. Those teeth bite the tree very well even though there are only two teeth.

How much does each step/standoff weigh?

I think a thin aluminum tube (less than 1") wrapped in carbon (to make it 1 inch and stiffen the thin tube) inserted in two of these might out tethrd the tethrd one stick (if it is close to 1 pound per stick).

I suppose you could waterjet out of 1/2in thick alum plate, but not sure how much flex that would introduce... with the 1in thick version there is zero flex, but each step is 1lb in itself. So it would have to be redesigned to get that much weight out of it.

I'm thinking about pulling the 3D printed versions (black) off the setup shown and rig them up kind of like the Aresenal Maxx aider.
