So this is the first saddle I’ve purchased, and I’ve been reading just about every post on here about comfort, tether height, bridge length, etc.

I see people saying that in order to fine tune the comfort of their saddle, as well as allow my them to draw their bow without hitting their bridge, they are shortening the bridge. The mantis comes with an amsteel bridge, and maybe I’m missing something, but short of cutting the original bridge off and starting over, how can you adjust the bridge to find what’s comfortable to you? I’m 100% confident in my knot tying skills, but haven’t the slightest clue on splicing amsteel.

Hopefully what I’m saying makes sense, and it’s a stupid question lol

You can take say a Predator or other similar rope and tie knots then figure the length for your amsteel. Amsteel is not knot friendly for a bridge. I have never worked with amsteel. I took my kestrel and learned all the knots. I would sit in the kestrel and within 10 - 15 m8nutes or so I knew if it had to be adjusted. I did this all at ground level or just 1 stick height.

A 30” bridge is a good length for starters. Some gents like it shorter, some longer.
The longer the bridge the less hip pinch. It all depends on your body style etc, being in saddle shape is a big thing.

I put a Petzl adjustable bridge using Teufelberger Reep Schnur 10mm on my Guidos Web and being able to fine tune the length is really nice. Being able to adjust tether length as well as bridge length is a nice option.

Most people that are talking about shortening their bridge are referring to the Kestrel. The bridge on the Kestrel came extremely long so many people, including myself shorten it to somewhere between 24"-30". The Mantis already comes set up at 30", So,i t's less likely you will have to adjust the Mantis bridge length.

I like about a 26 inch bridge. My bridge is made out of predator rope it's the one that came with my Kestrel. I have a ropeman on it so it's adjustable . Works great for me . I back it up with a prusik .
