I know boots on the ground, have to put in the work, etc. I get all that. Just asking if you like looking at topo maps, where would you start? The camera/pic waypoint is where there was a good rub line. Hunted that a few times. Super thick 20-30 yards to the north of it. Didn't have any success. The other two way points is where I had a couple cameras. Got some does on camera last year but no bucks. Anything really sticking out where you'd go look first? The areas that look like food plots is actually re-planted pine trees. They are about 2 feet tall. No food plots.

I like the pinch point mid-right on the map, almost dead in middle of your brown and orange pin, straight down from the right corner of the white box.

I'll take a look at that spot. Surrounded by swamp. Blue line is an access path.

I tend to look at topo lines and gravitate to anything that makes an "X" shape. For example on the screenshot Jayo just posted, I would literally do exactly what he says because that is where multiple terrain features converge and transition to other terrain features. In my mind that is a natural point of juncture for deer to follow.

Thanks.

Knowing what I know about me, my efforts would start right here….

It’s going to be thick, especially with ground cover so deer will bed and travel through it with a little more peace of mind.

There’s multiple forest types/ages all around it.

There’s multiple terrain features surrounding it.

Combine all of the above and you have a great place to find deer. Combine all of the above completely surrounding the swamp and you have a great place to find deer on any wind.

The 2 other spots that jump out to me the most other than the one already mentioned is SE of your cam pin on the where you have that inside corner. That spot is just east of the 2 onside corners of that opening just to the SW of the cam pin. The other spot is the tight ridge pinch on the T ridge NE of the area the guys circled. Right under the 1000 on the topo line.

Is this public land? How long is the access path and is it gated? If the access is too easy, I'd almost immediately rule it out.

This is public land. Access throughout the property is pretty easy. A few roads that flow through it. I typically don't see a lot of pressure out there though.

I've re-read this numerous times and try and see what you are referring too. I have no idea where you pointed out. Ha.

Ridge spot is just to the left of the lake in the upper right corner, right under the 1000 line indicator. The other spot is at the back of the opening on the far left of the pic where the country road name is marked out. The inside corner on the north side of that opening and east of the inside corners on the east end of the opening above the big one.
