Meat hauling pack

Sounds like we were on the same path. I have spent more time than care to recall trying to narrow this thing down. I was sold on the modularity of Kifaru. What made you change your mind and go exo? Man that’s cool of you to offer that, but I don’t have ultimate faith in postal service round here and I would hate it if something happened!
Weight was 1. I remember kifaru being higher and kifaru being heavier. I worried about flex in the frame too. Elknut assured me by our texts that the existing have held far more brutality from them than most ever put a pack throughout many seasons. The pack.can absolutely draw.down very small and it will hug up.to you very tight.

If you are interested in being hands on we can work something out. Buying these packs aren't run of the mill local.archery.shop stuff unless you actually hunt and live in the west. Its important to utilize your ties because its a bug once cry once deal and when you drop 750$ on a.stupid bag.to carry a animal out it better be all you want. Im very happy with mine and will be selling it to upgrade.

Great question. I have used a badlands 2200 for the last 10 years however for me it wasn’t right for saddle hunting.

I recently jumped onto the mystery ranch wagon and I am liking what I see. I was looking at the pop ups however I settled on a sawtooth (I like to hunt out west too). I went this route because with the guidelite frame or whatever it’s called, I can haul more an swap bags vs the pop up series. I do plan to get a mule bag in the future just for saddle hunting.

So I can't speak to the western hunting, but I do use an Eberlestock X2 in the South for whitetails, quartering and packing out when deep in the woods and dragging a deer out solo is simply not an option. Takes a bit of planning for the after the shot/butchering gear, but it works well in that setup.
I know a lot of western hunters use that same pack for a lot of reasons, but can't speak to it based on my own experiences.

I only have experience with Kifaru. I used my Kifaru with a Reckoning bag to pack out one buck last year. My pack with my saddle gear and the quartered our buck weighed 89 lbs. It was no problem for the pack but was more than I can comfortably carry up big hills. Speaking of I need to be getting my legs in shape! I’m trying to decide what to do this fall. I don’t want to walk a mile back to the truck to get my pack. I’ve though about carrying my pack in part of the way and ditching a little ways out from my tree. It’s a little big up in the tree. I hunted while wearing an old turkey vest last year and it worked great. I may ditch the Kifaru a little ways from my hunting spot and go the rest of the way with the vest. I can pick the Kifaru up on the way out or come and get if I kill something. Idk
