For sake of comfort, what is the best? Solid cordura material or mesh? Not concerned with weight, heat or noise. Specifically thinking about the Changing my Merlin order to the New Flex.

I think the cordura has the best chance to be comfortable. the mesh has too much give, and you end up eventually feeling just the straps. the cordura helps spread the pressure out better. this is just my opinion.

I’ve never sat in a pleated saddle but from my experience, the more the seat material stretches or flexes like a pleated saddle, the more weight goes onto the straps. Cordura will not stretch as much as a mesh, supporting and spreading the load better. But if you add a pleat, will it give enough support to matter between the 2?

I ordered a Merlin yesterday while hanging at 6 waiting for daylight in my new Cruzr XC. By noon I couldn't stand it and changed the order to a Flex.
If it out sits the Cruzr it's down the road with it I'm not liking the waist belt or leg straps on the Cruzr.
I use a LWHC and leg straps are a game changer.
If it isn't as comfortable as the Cruzr I'll figure a way to make the straps work better.
