Michigan Public Land Challenge

They're going to kill deer either way...who cares if 1500 guys know where they are.

Guys getting worked up I bet 99.9% of those guys would share the campfire and a beer with anyone that stopped by.(.1% of those guys may not drink) I would however hate for any hunting to get messed up

One takeaway from their style of hunting is they spend so much time riding and looking around field edges vs boots on the ground scouting. Then once they find deer I noticed Dan is really paying attention to track size before going into an area. It’s definitely worth keeping in mind especially for those out of state hunts where you don’t have time to thoroughly scout an area.

Yup. If your hunting for big bucks you have to hunt where there is a very high probability that there is one or more where your hunting. So many guys pick a spot and just set up basically logging a hunt with no clue what’s around and hoping for a miracle. That’s the huge difference between these guys in the PLC and the average hunter. If you don’t have an extremely great plan your just wasting time on stand.

Your right. I also think Dan has been doing it long enough to know what his strengths are. He’s probably got every swamp a certain size that’s public marked on a map. Then checking around each one for tracks and other big buck sign. Narrows it down when you say big swamps with islands and having to cross deep water. Throw in agriculture nearby and that narrows it down some.

That’s exactly what he’s doing.

Troll.

The 1500 I'm referring to are the active users on this forum. You really think anyone is going to find them and eff this up? Gotta be kidding me.

Far from troll homie. Prime example around when aaron zack and Greg found the buck nest on midwest whitetail and folks poked around saying this and that looking for the buck nest then next thing ya know boom buck nest was toast. People will screw it all up for their own greed and you can take that to the bank. If you think every person here is right as the rain and wont screw it up or they to slip in for their own greed your higher than balls on a friggin giraffe.

The name-calling isn't cool, please don't.

There is a forum michigan-sportsman.com with a thread on this, with guys asking where they are, or boasting how they know where they are. Most deer hunters are good people, but there are some turdburglars. Hope no turdburglars barge in on the PLC guys and discourage THP from running this in the future.

You're right...I shouldn't be name calling but I felt trolled with his comment.

I think we're all on the same page here peeps.

Has there been any sign of sturgis? I think he was visiting his dad before the challenge started, not sure what the outcome of that was, but i was looking forward to seeing him on some of the videos. 2 down and no sturgis to my knowledge.
