For those that have cut their Helium's down, what did you do with the versa button? I'd like to move the middle stick's button so they stack together tighter. Is it better to move it up or down? Does it matter? How far does it need moved from a standpoint of having the holes too close together? I've watched several videos and searched on here and can't find mention of it, only mention of recessing but I can't find much details on that either.
 
The only modification I made to the versa button mod was to recess the hole into the button so the bolt head didn’t stick out. Aside from that, I didn’t need any more mods.

The bolt head on mine are already recessed, but the nut on the back is what is hitting the versa button on the underneath stick causing the sticks to stack slightly uneven. Figured if I moved just one of the buttons, they would then stack nice and clean.
 
When building DIY sticks I always multiply my overall stick length X .60 to get the height of the versa button from the bottom, my mini sticks are 22.5 long times .60 = 13.5 inches up from the bottom of the stick...not sure what you have to do to stack them
