Anyone ever modify a full body harness into a make shift rock climbing harness? The reason I ask is that I have an old used one lying around that it seems I could just cut off the shoulder straps and then pair it with a sit drag. Safety thoughts?

I've cut off the shoulder straps off an old webbing harness to use just for a positioning lineman's belt harness to prep trees. Having said that, you can get excellent rock climbing harnesses for around $45. Worth every penny for comfort and safety if used as a fall restraint.
Welcome from Michigan!

I used one for a while but I recommend finding one with the linesman built in. it works great. Lighter more compact than a rc and already has the linesman what’s not to like

I plan on doing this exact thing with my set up. I have an old summit harness and a sit drag. I plan on sewing the harness onto the sit drag. Once I get better with the sewing machine I might film the process. I will definitely take pictures.
