I decided to lighten up my muddy pro sticks, the biggest weight savings was going to be in the steps. I decided to make my own double steps using a drill press and a band saw.
I drew up my pattern on Auto CAD then copied my measurements over to my raw material. I used 6061 aluminum that was 36"l x 3"w x 3/8" thick.
The new steps weigh in at 4.26 ounces where the originals are 8.95 ounces after bolts, nuts and washers it came to a savings of 8.9 ounces per stick, so a total of 36 ounces roughly for the set of 4.
I think they turned out good.
If someone wants the original steps, I'll sell them off for cheap.
