Most comfortable saddle

I highly recommend just buying one stick, maybe even a 36” 3 step. I have 4 sticks now and I only use 2…..I need to have a yard sale. Aiders on all of them.
Thanks for the advice.....

I'm still not sure which climbing technique(s) will suit me, so figure that starting with a 4 stick pack gives me the most options. With 3-4 sticks to start, I can focus more on my rope work (LB/Tether stuff), positioning, and experimenting with positions, bridge length and all the like to see what works for me. But then once I'm comfortable and safe at height, then I can start to play with other techniques like rapelling (though will probably do that right off the bat), 1-stick, SRT ascending and the like. The cost of a 4 pack of XOP sticks isn't that much, so not like it will be an expensive proposition to get going.

It would also let me preset one tree with 3 sticks and then use the 4th for one sticking, though I'm sure if I like the 1-sticking I'll want to get a dedicated shorter stick for that (maybe a EWO Ultimate).

I'll probably also do some DIY stuff with ropes, making my own rope mods, loops, etc, since I have a fair bit of familiarity with splicing ropes, and have fids for all occasions, having built my own main gang lines for my dogsledding teams.

Or as I said in another thread, maybe I'll resell it all and just buy a plastic bucket and ground hunt, if this saddle stuff isn't for me in the long run. LOL

I have helped beginners one stick and rappel. They never did use multiple sticks. Just find some help or watch videos and try it.

My old guido’s web. The only two tree stand/saddle I have ever fallen asleep in is the guido’s web and a millennium m100. The web had other issues, but comfort wasn’t one of them.

Well I am an old guy. 63. With poor knees. You can do it. I am 2 hours from you. Take a trip down some time

I may take you up on the offer of a visit, if I find my way down in your area sometime.

I'm 65, but with decent knees, so got ya beat. LOL

It's not that I don't think I can do it, just not sure I'll want to. Plan to experiment when I get all my saddle hunting gear assembled.
