For someone moving from a treestand to a saddle I would say some kind of gear hanging system. Whether it’s something like the Tethrd HYS system or a cheaper version like the big game multi hook accessory strap, hanging stuff on the tree is a great benefit of saddle hunting and almost a necessity.

I agree. Having somewhere to put all your crap while setting up is very handy. I never thought I’d like the HYS strap because I had always just used a couple screw in hooks. That thing is probably my most used piece of gear besides my saddle now. Stupid simple but a big help in the tree.

And where can I get one of these bag rubs?

A cheap thing i take one every hunt is 7ft of Paracord, fixed loop on 1 end, and prussic made from string line string with cheap biner. I keep 1 in my pocket and 1 easily reached Daisy chained up. I can quickly pull it out and make a spot to hang my bow or whatever....the ground is wet/standing water most of the places I go so it's nice to be able to have a safe place to set things down if I need to

I always have some long releasable zipties with me, 101 uses, they are handy.

Sitting at my kitchen table, looking out at the river, so north-northwest. :)
I’d need to see it on a map. Preferably one with the waypoints from last year and the points of interest for this year. Just to make sure you really KNOW your $20 or less gear you see. It’s like a poor man’s vetting process. Totally above board and sanctioned. I won’t even tear up your speech...

You know I barely use waypoints anymore? And I'm probably going to stop making presets. They work...I just don't like using them. I have 9 preset trees on a 100 acre lease and i didn't sit a single one this year. Have probably 3 times that on public land and sat 2 or 3. And while I can't hardly remember 5 items my wife asks me to pick up from the store, I can remember hunting spots.

DanO's daisy chain web straps. The stick/stand version for my climbing sticks and RR and his non-climbing stick rated ones for gear hangers. These are silent, light and tough. Another great item under $20 is CAMO form tape for silencing gear and Stealth Strips for your sticks and silencing parts of your bow.
