A good friend of mine and myself are going to be fishing in the “Battle of Virginia’s” in March.
I’ve never fished either state for Muskie, but I was hoping maybe some of you on here might have some info.

Were open to either state and rivers or lakes. I’m keeping my options open just in case anything is froze over or blown out. I primarily fish rivers where I’m at in NY, but anywhere there’s good numbers and size fish would be great. Smaller rivers or lakes are preferred! I’m running a 1448 with a 25hp jet, so she ain’t gonna win any races, but gets me around decently.

If you have any info, feel free to post here or message me directly. Thank you!

The New River down in my part of the state. It’s well known as a small mouth bass river and has become equally recognized for musky fishing. I can’t give you any specifics myself, as I don’t fish for them. But I can give you the name of a guy that knows it well. Call New River Outdoor Adventures and talk to Timmy Dixon. The shop number is (276) 237-8823. Timmy isn’t a guide, but he runs kayak, canoe and tube shuttles out of his shop. Heck of a nice guy. He knows the river and would be the first guy I’d call. I bought my Bonafide SS127 kayak from his shop last year.

Check out facebook and look at all the musky pages. Theres a pile of em in wv, but it seems like the big ones always comes from the same areas. Stonewall, stonecoal, burnsville, and their tailwaters. Its not minnesota but there are some bigguns here and there.
