My wife tells me frequently I can't hear her voice when we are in the same room but I can distinguish the difference in the sound of a squirrel on the ground and a deer walking at a respectable distance when we are hunting together. I shrug and tell her my ears are tuned to certain frequinces. On a side note I've developed a severe flinch anytime her hand touches something with a handle on it...
