My wife and I were able to sneak away for our 12th anniversary this weekend on our first backpacking trip into the 48,000 acre Cranberry Wilderness area in our home state of WV. A good friend had recommended this area so we packed our gear and off we went. It was an easy 3.1 mile hike along the beautiful Williams River to our campsite overlooking a water fall. I took a small spinning rig with me and was able to catch more than a dozen native Brooke trout. Needless to say I am completely hooked and can't wait to go back!! Here are some pics we took along the way...
