My first hunting rifle!

If you want an amazing way to break in your barrel and hone it at the same time, look up David Tubbs final finish rounds. Twenty rounds with different levels of abrasives on the bullet to break it in and fine hone it at the same time. Tubbs is a ten time winner of the camp Lejeune 1000 yard shoot with 308. I use them religiously on all my 308s

Thanks I’ll check it out.

Nice kit! I like the hoghunter glass you're putting on it. That has a 56mm objective if my memory serves me correctly. Great dusk and dawn optic.

Had to share as my family doesn’t understand why I’m so excited so hoping some of y’all will. It’s all come in and is now ready for assembly!! Weatherby Vanguard .308 w/ Vortex 3-12x56 scope.

Which Weatherby Vanguard is that? There's like 10 or more models of it. Smart to pick the 308 because once ammo supply normalizes you'll be able to buy bulk ammo (NATO cartridge) and save some cash (for plinking, etc not hunting).

Let us know how your first range trip is with it, after you get it all set up. My little 308 loves 168gr and 175gr Bullets. But shoots real well with 180’s also, thanks to the 1 in 10 twist.

Thanks for the heads up. Due to shortages everywhere and current prices been kind of limited and on what I’ve been able to pick up. Ended up with 10 boxes (4 types) of 150gr to get the scope sighted in and just get comfortable shooting the gun before my first deer season with it. Figure after the season ends and supplies are hopefully back to normal I’ll start experimenting with different weights/loads/etc.
