My first target buck, and how do I use trail cams??

I’d limit intrusion at all costs. So that means field edge and ridge top camera sets away from bedding.
Putting a camera by your stand is risky in my opinion because some deer seem to avoid them, but some seem to not care
Thanks for the advice, this is a field edge set and they’re pretty used to human activity here because the landowner is always driving his atv around checking cows. I used the same atv setting the stands and cameras hoping to not draw attention. I shot what I think is this same buck from that stand last year and never recovered him. We decided the hit wasn’t lethal after about 5 days of grid searching. My season starts September 15th. Do you think I should make one more check of cameras before season since I can do it without much intrusion? Just pull the atv up to the field edge really quick and be gone. I have 2 sets about 100 yards from each other each with a camera near it. I don’t want to make a hunt in the wrong stand and blow my chances for the other.

Sont be surprised if he's vanished after his velvet sheds
