My Kite vs. Mantis Review/Compare

I have my Mantis loaded up with three pouches. One SYS Hauler on my left holds both tether and lineman’s belt, an entrenchment tool pouch with a grommet hole in the bottom holds my Doyle’s Gear Hoist and rangefinder, and a SYS Hauler on the right holds my hand drill and bolts as well as a hand saw and EZ Kut pruners. It’s a little heavy but everything is super convenient for getting up a tree. I also wear my Mantis from the time I leave the truck to the time I get back to the truck. I synch the waste belt up so it’s snug and the saddle doesn’t feel like it’s pulling my pants off. I loosen it back up when hunting. (I don’t know why folks are having difficulty with the waste belt or buckle) I will on occasion take the bridge out of the pouch and put it over my neck, connect both binders to the LB loops, tighten it up a bit and let it carry some of the weight of the saddle.
I do wonder sometimes if I wouldn’t be more comfortable with more saddle on the bottom part of the saddle as I like to lean/sit in a more upright position. The saddle seems to cup my but more when I sit in a more traditional position as I would in a chair. In a more upright position I find the saddle wants to ride up on me more than I would like.
It still beats a hang on and I often find that sweet spot and can just really relax but a lot of that depends on the tree as well as the saddle and getting set up so you aren’t fighting gravity the whole hunt. Also, where the tether attaches to the bridge is right where I want to rest my head putting my face right on the carabiner. Not comfortable. Do they make a carabiner with a twist in it so it would be turned flat to my face? That would make a huge difference and I could sleep much better in the saddle.
I’ve never tried using the micro adjusters, maybe in the off season I’ll mess around with them.
All that said, I wouldn’t mind trying out a Kite, or even the new Guidos Web.
