My Lone Wolf platform just broke off…. I heard this has happened before.

considering what’s at stake, it’s time to discard & replace. No different than retired a rope that’s fraying or showing signs of wear. We need to inspect our gear often & stay safe. That style platform was the only game in town 5 years ago ( besides the unicorn LW assassin), it was a decent solution but never mean to handle all the side pressure induced by saddle hunting. There are so many great options available, check some out you’ll be impressed with the upgrade.

If it’s cast aluminum like I’m thinking it is yes you COULD repair it but honestly pitch it in the bin and get another platform. A braze job MIGHT hold up but where it’s broken at the post gets a lot of twisting and shearing force and the last thing you want at height is for the entire platform to decide it’s had enough of this nonsense and check itself out and snap off the post. Then you’ll really have a cool story to tell. Just buy a new platform. Picture for good natured ribbing and cuz Jeff Goldblum.

Definitely going to trash it, just hoped someone here might know of a method to repair the metal instead of replacing it.

From what I understand, aluminum is VERY hard to weld back together. If you really want the same, people are always selling the seat section on ArcheryTalk for around 40-50 TYD. I have an XOP one if you're interested.
Sounds great, I’ll send you a message to get detail. Thanks.

1. So OP knows and can make an informed decision
2. So OP can understand maybe why the platform broke, and can make an informed decision

Due diligence I think it's called.

The Novix seat I believe is bigger than the og LW seats, and that could mean more leverage to break a seat used as a platform. Otherwise, it's about the same.
Even suggesting they use it, with your faux "disclaimer", could put the OP in a precarious position. I guess that's ok though, in the name of helpfulness, you guided them directly towards something that the manufacturer expressly states not to use it for.

There are better options.

I'm sure when OP purchased the setup there wasn't a disclaimer on the listing. Now OP knows.

I’m old school and I don’t play that game. I fully accept all the responsibility in whatever I do or don’t do although I understand there are those that blame everyone but themself for their foolish action.
