I've hunted with saddles on and off since the TL treesaddle days using screw in steps and a ring of steps.I always felt like a predator but the comfort was never really there. The recent addition of small platforms and climbing with one stick made it even better but I still can't lean in comport for more than 3 or 4 hours.Well,I got a LWCG .5 stand this year and it changed the way I hunt. That tiny stand and one stick weighs so little that I don't even know it's on my back.I can be at hunting height in less than 10 minutes and like any LW stand,in complete silence.

What are you using for a stick? I’ve been eying the .5 hard. It’s so expensive but it looks so awesome.

Sounds like i've been saddle hunting as long as you have. I recently transitioned into the small diy platform and 1 stick, and think it is probably the best decision I made. Especially, with the rappel to get out of the tree. Everything is so much lighter now. I've been eyeing the LWCG .5. Are you sitting in the .5 with your saddle on or using a RC harness to one stick and sit in the .5?

Currently I'm using a 20" shikar with a two step aider. However, just for packability,I did order a LWCG double step. When I get it,I plan on shipping it to DanO so he can sew once of his awesome two step aiders on it.

I'm not using a traditional saddle.I'm actually using a HSS harness that I just put a bridge on and when I get to hunting height,I just clip a sit and drag seat to my carabiners.I find it way more comfortable than a traditional saddle and easier to walk through the woods.I lean most of the time but that's the beauty of the .5.When I get tired of leaning with the saddle,I just sit for 20 minutes or so to rest my legs.
