My predator season

So far I have 3 coyotes, 2 gray fox, 1 bobcat, 4 opossum 1 coon and 4 misses on fox and a few shots not taken because of brush etc. February 29 is the end of season for bobcat and fox but I can night hunt coyote until July 31. I’m saving my money for a new.223 rifle and a night vision scope. I’m officially addicted to predator hunting.

Man only critter I wish people wouldn't take is the possums. They do a great number on eating ticks. Other than that some awesome takes to manage predators

I gave the bobcat, black coyote and one gray fox to a friend for a display in his taxidermy shop. I’m still trying to get a red for him. I missed one yesterday afternoon. The rest I will skin and probably tan them to keep or sell later on. Hopefully next season I will have enough to sell at auction if the prices ever get back up.

They also do a number on turkey eggs. I’ve called in so many this year it’s crazy. I let most of them go though.

I need more in my back yard. I cant legally take the flock that come through daily. Went from 3 to 33 in 2 years.

I will be going Wednesday and Thursday this week and Thursday/Friday next week. I only have until the end of February for fox and bobcat.

I called in a coon last night but couldn’t get a shot. Baby Raccoon distress brought it in running.

I hit a coyote today but couldn’t find it. I did get a big coon though. It came in to jackrabbit distress.

I just bought a new rifle. Savage Axis 223 with scope for $349 tax included at Rural King. I’m headed to the range tomorrow morning.

I finished the season with another gray fox. Coyote is still open until July 31 for night hunting.
