Newbie here that’s only had a saddle since this Monday. After tons of research and practicing in the back yard I decided that one sticking is the way I want to go. Here is how I decided to make my three step aider for my 20” Hawk Helium. If you have any questions I will try to answer the best I can. Sorry if the pics are a little lacking but I tried to make them self explanatory.
They are made from 1” web tubing that is climber rated. I slid 1/4” poly tubing into 3/8” poly tubing that I finally slid into 1/2” poly tubing for the step inserts to give it some support and rigid structure without a lot of crazy weight. It was somewhat a PITA to get the 3/8" into the 1/2" but the 1/4" went fairly easy. I cut them into like 10" pieces before sliding them into one another and after that cut the finished product into 8" pieces and rounded the ends off smooth with a belt sander.
If you were wondering, I only saves a few bucks with this DIY vs buying an ULTIMAIDEER but I am a more "DIY guy" than a "buy guy". LOL
Countless times I have spent way more on DIY projects when it would have been a lot cheaper to buy one already built.
The buckles and rings were ordered from EWO so a big shout out to @DanO !!!
Let me know what you guys think..
