Don't use the LW v brackets on platform posts. They are not designed for that and they do break. Use the LW bat wing, XOP six-point bracket, or the other bracket available from a really cool store I'm familiar with.

Yeah, those "other" brackets are just ok........

The standoff is not the issue here. The bat wings you are using now are fine. The issue is the attachment method. The hang from versa method you have that setup as will not hold firm for that system. You need to add a strap directly to the seat and use the seat to cam the strap tight to tree. That's what will hold your whole setup including your weight to the tree. Once you've changed to this method, if it still pulls away, it because you didn't cam the stap tight enough. The guys have posted several pics and links to videos. Not sure what more can be done.... maybe you live close to someone who can show you in person or make plans to go to demo day in the near future?
