I’m new to all of this when it come to saddle hunting. I have a direction I want to go in. I know what I want as far as in the saddle itself, and the steps to get up and down the tree. I’m wearing myself out when it come to the platform and the tether and Linemans rope. Can someone list each item they recommend when it come to carabiners, rope, where to buy from, and brand. I guess what I’m trying to find out is a step by step of everything I need to get in the tree. I know I can order tether and linesman rope from
From tethrd or wild edge but will it save me money to buy from other places. I think I’m over complicating this process. I want to come out the most cost effective way but not short cut myself when it comes to safety. I have look into this enough and used enough of my time and that is why I’m reaching out to everyone here that has experience. Also is there anyone in the Central North Carolina area will to demo their set up for me and let me know what they have learned from saddle hunting. Thanks !

Welcome to saddle hunting. To answer your last question first, check the saddlehunter map:
Second, since you are new it would be my advise to buy lines from either Tethrd or Aerohunter or the other saddle companies. They've taken the time and effort to do the research and run the tests to make sure it works and is safe. IMO I don't think you'll save all that much money, plus I always argue you shouldn't put a price on safety when you're hanging 20ft up off a tree. Hit up the classifieds, people are always selling stuff there. After you've run your gear a season you can always upgrade. Also, IMO you should view lines as a wear item like brakes or tires.
