It seems like I have a lot of pressure on my knees against the tree, I tried moving my tether up and down the tree, I have no hip pinch it just seems like I’m missing something I’m using a ridge runner platform and a kestrel with a 26” bridge

A lot of guys use knee pads for sitting, I prefer leaning so I do not use them

I find smaller trees are harder on your knees but using a pad on the tree instead of knee pads will take care of it and for smaller trees, you can straddle the tree and be really comfortable.

Knee pads. I am also a leaner so found the kneepads were more stuff to carry and more fiddle factor.

If I decide I need to sit for a while I will hang my pack in front of me and use that as a cushion for my knees.

I think I saw that @g2outdoors was using a DIY setup for resting knees against tree. Looked like it consisted of a bungie cord or strap and a cut up piece of seat cushion foam like a thermarest seat or from a treestand. Might try that if you don't want to pack in or wear kneepads.

Actually@g2outdoors was using his backpack for his knees rest.

Yes I use knee pads just seems like there’s something I’m missing

I lean most of the time but still use knee pads to sit for a bit just to get some pressure off my feet on most hunts. I actual used a foam pad attached to the tree and knee pads on a longer set this weekend and it did help with being able to stay in a seated position for a longer period of time. It was about a 14" diameter tree so it had plenty of room to put both knees on it at the same time. It mite be worth a try for you, just a cheep foam pad and some para-cord.
