Saw these Bolderton sticks for several months and thought that the concept was sound but execution was bad. So, with COVID time on my hands, I decided to take a stab at some mods to improve and see if they have merit. Turns out they are very cool and pack up very nicely. Not the lightest but acceptable at 1.9 lbs each, down from 3 lbs actual each. Open to feedback on these.

19 1/2" step to step. So, with the top steps closed/up, they are about 23"

Look great! What is that strap you’re using to sinch them together?

Neat! Those stand offs look similar to Leverage sticks/Hawks how do they bite the tree?

Did you drill them that way (over the length) for adjustability? Or strictly weight reasons. Might be able to lose a few more ounces with centered larger holes.

I’m sure Stickman can clarify, but if you look at the image of him standing on the sticks, looks like the stick has 3 channels, which would limit your hole size. I think he made a good call with weight reduction vs integrity from what I can see.

I have been wanting to try these sticks for awhile now cause I like the concept but haven't gotten around to it! Good job! This is how you know you are deep into saddle hunting when you have forgotten people used to carry more than one stick!!!! LOL

Yep, I completely overlooked that. For some reason when I was looking at the pics I thought it was just a straight hollow tube.

You are correct Plebe. 3 channels of thinner walled material. So, decided that I didn't want to compromise stiffness to lose another 1/2 oz of weight. You could definitely get away with it though I think. I'm not necessarily into "ultralight" but 1.9 lb per stick seems acceptable?

I was waiting for someone to take these sticks on. Looks good. Curious why didn’t you drill the middle? It would help a little. I think you could loose some weight with a DanO versa button and some amsteel

Holes down the center was answered above. My button is lighter than the DanO button.
