Hello everyone.
I haven't started Saddle hunting yet. This forum has been awesome for research. Has filled my head with lots of ideas. Looking into puling the trigger on a mantis saddle. I first started looking into saddle hunting last season. I really wish I had purchased something over the summer. Lugging in my climber over the last week as really gotten me thinking about it again. I hunt primarily in southern NH and MA. Looking forward to an Illinois hunt coming up in October. To all you veteran members thank you for all of the information you have shared.

Welcome! I attended UNH, Durham and have spent a ton of time in the white Mountains. Have fun, be safe!

Another UNH alum here! Durham is a great town. So is Portsmouth.

Welcome to the site, Matt. I'm in southern Maine, less than an hour from Portsmouth if you need anything.

Welcome from Northern VA at least right now, lol, moving to Washington state next summer. I have some family in NH, love that state! How's the hunting? I might have access to some hunting land up there.

Thanks everyone. I just took the leap and ordered a bunch of tethrd gear including the Mantis in large. They have great customer service. Hopefully I went with the right size. I'm 5'11" about 190lbs. I wear a size 34 pant but measuring my actual waist I get more like 35in. I figured with our cold winters I should go with a large to have room to wear extra clothes.

drew13 thank you I might have to take you up on the offer. Maybe after the season if I haven’t gotten the hang of the saddle you might have time to show me the ropes. I don’t really expect to hunt much out of it this season with tethrd being so backlogged on orders. I wanted to get it ordered because I know I would have kept putting it off and be in this situation next season.

donnieballgame the only experience I have whitetail hunting is in NH and MA. I might not be the best judge. Though it is notoriously tough hunting compared to other areas of the country. I’ll be hunting in Illinois next month. Other than that the only other hunting out of this area I have was in Africa wile in the Marines. Africa is a totally different experience for sure.
