Welcome from the Hickory area! You should check out Butner and Caswell gamdlands, but are not far from you and both have bow only areas that get less pressure.

the flyfishing is definitely a bonus - have a wild brook trout creek that runs through that community so pretty pumped to have that right out the back door. Plus its just a great base camp set up to go hit the bluelines. Lately been spending more time on the SoHo though in spring / summer taking my boys out. Come Sept, the rod gets parked for the remainder of the year LOL - post your hunts so we can follow along.

Thanks for the reply! I’ve thought long and hard about hunting the Boy Scout reservation area that is bow only up in Caswell. May definitely give it a go this year.

Sat my first saddle hunt the day before last after joining this group and putting together gear over the last 2 weeks. I’m now selling all my climbers and lock-ons as a result. Hahaha

Butner-Falls of Neuse, Jordan, and Harris Game Lands when I lived further east don't know if you going quite that far to hunt.

Nice to meet you brother! Hahaha I sure was. Stationed at Ft. Bragg from 09-14. Did quite a bit of hunting in those areas. You still hunting around N.C.?

Yeah in Burke co now still hunt mostly public land.
