New Gear Release 2022!

ditto.

And 8-12lbs:rolleyes: That 33% swag isn’t inspiring my confidence either.

I’ve got an LW climber base cut down that’s 8-12lbs. I’ll sell it for 50% of their alleged asking price, lol.

Just give us the machined hand climber top already!

Who knows, pretty soon you may see “vintage” lone wolf climbers going for more than you could buy a new one for a month ago.

This should take you there I think.

I'm looking forward to some innovation in climbers but $800-900 is bit rich for me. But I figured it'd be at least $700 based on the price of their hang ons. Maybe Novix will revamp a climber. Summit has added new features to their climbers but they're still heavy and bulky.

Edit: He has another video where he mentions that XOP will be bringing back their Ambush climber.

Definitely hear you guys on the price. Not really surprised though the way these other high end stands and sticks are going. From the guys video it sounds like there will be a high demand for them. I use my climber more than anything and if I can drop 5-7 lbs for an equal or better product, you got me.

I’m hoping they release a standard platform in cf, doesn’t make sense to build a platform for customers willing to pay premium for weight savings and then use the XL. I would be gun shy buying a first run from them after hearing so much negative feedback about them on here so maybe it’s better I’m not tempted lol

There should be a thread on here each season to track your previous 3 seasons' gear used and harvests and compare that to the coming season's results. Prove with facts that your harvest quantity and quality improved with the new toys. I think most of us, if honest, get very little improvement in our harvests due to the gear we use, but win if the comfort is improved via fit, less weight, or ease of use. $ spent on better location will always trump better gear, but the new gear is fun too. too much of what we see coming out is fluff again - like an existing saddle with expensive camo pattern added that doesn't work any better than Carhart brown in the tree...

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Eberhart will be releasing saddle specific clothing through Scentlok.
I hope they bring back Vertigo Gray camo. They also signed Drury so expect a line for them as well. Nexus has a huge booth at ATA so there should be pics soon.

I think you hit the nail on the head there with comfort. I think quality clothing has helped me with all day sits and in turn I’ve had midday success due to that. Also going along with another thread you could argue cell cams have improved a lot of peoples success rates.

I think most people are limited on time, if only there were a way to buy more of that.

Lol, that'd be great. I'm a horrible salesman but have held onto some "vintage" gear.

To be fair to the rumored LWCG climber, LW Alpha Sit and Climb stands were $450. Alpha treestands $270. So approx 2x pricing seems where LWCG's landed. We should expect the better material and machining to cost more. The Beast stand is $625 and you still need to get up the tree.

But I don't want or need the whole treestand, just a purpose built climbing platform. Hopefully we don't get shut out and they offer that.

I used to be able to tote an accessorized 25+lb Tree Lounge all over the mountains. I'm just trying to keep doing what I've done all these years.

I've watched as some of my mentors have become more limited in range and it's not that they don't have success closer to access, but it's diminished their adventure. As their hunting world shrunk, they looked to us few rangier lads to liven up the sense of the hunt with stories of our exploits. They'd listen and advise us and feel a part of it still. Passing the torch I suppose.

But I'm not ready for that, so I buy expensive gear. (It's cheaper than knee surgery)

I agree and have told myself the past few seasons to stop obsessing over gear and just scout public more and get permission or lease some private. It would have more of an impact on my success than a slightly different mousetrap. A private spot close to home would increase my ability to get in the woods more because I can just drop in for a couple of hours and not have to drive to public spots an hour or more away. My goal for next season is to get permission in a reduction zone where I will be relatively close to home and have an extended season. Need some bodies on my gear to justify money spent.

Yes! Machined hand climber top with better arm angles and I’m done.

I’m thinking it might not be wise to be in the first group trying out the super light weight stuff. But if that CF platform works out it would be awesome to have a platform that big at around 2 lbs.

Ironically, the best moustraps involve a bucket. Hmmm.

Folks are always telling us that...you're supposed to be tethered in, so there is minimal risk, and...the weight savings is worth it.

As well as...they will "probably take care of you" if there's a problem with the product even if it's past warranty.

So expect that narrative.

Did this thing go afield at all last season? Wonder what we'll hear on that.

But yeah, in a vacuum, it's an enticing prospect. Though I'm happy to sit this one out.
