Not sure how far you are, but my brother lives in Chesterfield and saddle hunts quite a bit up there. I hunted with him some last Dec. Beautiful country!

The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. Starting in 2020 only SH Members will be admitted to the annual hunting contest. Current members will need to follow these steps to upgrade: 1. Click on your username 2. Click on Account upgrades 3. Hey guys, I have been reading and researching a lot today. I "think" I have narrowed my search down to either the Cruzr XC or the Tethrd Phantom. Also, with both they have the option of upgrading the rope to Oplux and the bridge to an amsteel adjustable...thoughts as this is my first saddle?
Having owned both, I would pick the Cruzr XC. The adjustable bridge it a good upgrade.
Honestly man, I know you are excited, but with all the saddles you have around you, I would wait until you get back to order one. ALTHOUGH, the classifieds on this site is AMAZING and if you get something you don't like, someone will buy it if the price is right.
You have plenty of time, I wouldn’t buy either. Sounds like enough guys close to you with options to try…..
I'll second @bowhuntr09. Phantom was my first saddle, and I sold it for a Cruzr XC. The Cruzr is much more comfortable in my opinion.
I appreciate all of the input guys. I do plan to wait and try some out, but as Loopwing said, I am excited lol.
I totally get that side of it, but having owned or tried most everything available if I was starting from scratch I’d try a few before I bought one. Even then you might not know what you prefer until you get not it a bit. They all feel pretty good for 20-30mins in the yard. It’ll take you a season to get your settings dialed in ( bridge length, tether height, sit vs lean etc). Once you have a decent baseline then you can geek out & really get setup, but I honestly wouldn’t bother before then.

Welcome @SEVA_Bowhunter from Northeastern NC. I also bowhunt only all season, and been a saddlehunter for over a decade, and I also do alot of hunting in Southampton county. I agree with everyone else, wait and try on a few and see what you like, but definitely practice and get familiar with your equipment before the season begins. I own alot of the saddles mentioned and I definitely can say you cant go wrong with the TX5 or Cruzr XC. The Phantom is also a good saddle. I hunted all last season in the Phantom. For a more budget friendly saddle I would check out a Lattitude Classic or an H2. If interested in the Phantom let me know. I will be listing mine soon in the classifieds.
I appreciate the words. When I get home, I plan to reach out to a few the guys on here that are local to meet up and try some. I will say however, the Cruzr XC LOOKS more comfortable with the larger panel, just looks like it would support more so longer sits would be good. I routinely sit for 4-6hrs, and depending on the weather and everything I have been known to do a couple of all day sits.
