Hello from St. Cloud, MN!
I've been hunting since I was legal, but have been focusing more on bowhunting for the past 10 yrs.
I learned a while ago that if you don't fill your tag before the shooting starts on gun opener in our area you spend the rest of your season freezing in a tree. I hunt mainly on private family owned land about an hour N of St. Cloud, but every once in a while I try out a new spot on public land or head out to Camp Ripley for the state and Veterans hunts that I think a saddle would be perfect for.
I'm a 38 yr old 5' 4" female hunter, so dragging a heavy stand into the woods for one sit is definitely something I’m always looking to get away from. The less weight I have to carry the better.
I’ve been looking at the Mantis and the Kite so far and have some predator rope on order to make my own tether and harness. I’m still looking at platform options, but am hoping to try out saddle hunting for the first time this fall.
