I am new to forums so I hope I am posting correctly. After a bad fall from a treestand in 2009, I have not hunted with my boots off the ground! Last month, I ordered a Kestrel saddle kit and a Predator platform with hopes of returning to the canopy by Oct 2020. Are there any Oklahoma Kestrel users in NE OK that may be willing to show me any tips and tricks of saddle hunting? Not during your season of course, but possibly after Jan 15th and I'd be willing to pay. I also need to make a decision on a climbing method as well. The 2009 accident left me with some permanent brain/speech issues but I believe I am physically able and praying a saddle will permit me to return to the woods and get off the ground. I am 55 will be hunting public and use a 2008 PSE Compound bow. Thanks
 
Welcome from Maryland! Great to have you, there’s a couple Oklahoma guys here. The great thing about saddle hunting, when executed properly you are connected from the time you leave the ground to hunting height & back down.

Thank you Recurveaholic I sorta needed to hear this. Yes the journey has been a ringer but as I often say: At least I'm not dead!

If you don't find anybody local to you reach out to me. I'm about 4 hours away but would be willing to help out if you need it. I'm not a Kestrel guy, I'm DIY but I'm willing to do what I can
 
Welcome from michigan! Way to get back in the saddle....see what I did there. Glad you're still game and your accident wasnt worse. I feel safer in a saddle than I have with my climber or my in laws sketchy pre sets. You're in good hands.

I am stunned at the welcomes and offers to help, thank you. I too am amazed I ordered a saddle and seem to be getting more excited and nervous as I get closer to arrival. The buddy that has taken me with him for the past five years has been such a huge blessing to me I recently ordered him a Krestel Flex as both and thank you for the past AND support into the future! Thanks again for the words of encouragement.
