I hunt Wheeeler too. It’s not easy, but there are deer there. If you want to connect, let me know.

I have hunted Wheeler for about 15 years now, haven't shot one yet but have seen a lot of deer out there but haven't been able to get a shot off. I also hunt Swan Creek, took a doe a couple years ago. I also hunt Skyline and Black Warrior management.
 
I plan on trying to hunt Swan Creek some this year may be, have you thought or tried hunting any TVA land?

I have hunted some a while back, shot a nice little 4 point about 8 years ago. I have went to the same area a couple other times and seen a couple other bucks, could have shot both of them but they were up to their belly's in mud and didn't want to have to go out in it to retrieve them. Plus one time I talked to a guy before going in and he said the warden was watching the area because someone had been baiting the area, so I didn't shoot one because I didn't know where it was and I just lowered my gun and packed up. I haven't been back to that spot in a couple years now. I would be interested in hunting some other areas of TVA, just haven't found any information on locations.

I hunt it mostly in the Blackwell Swamp area and under the interstate bridge. I wouldn't mind getting together with you or iamcorey to check it out or even hunt sometime.

Yes and Yes. I am scouting Swan Creek today to try to hunt this year. I scouted TVA land last year but was unable to hunt it because it was all under several feet of water during deer season. Not sure if this is common or last year was an especially wet year.

Welcome from Warrior, Al. I’m new to Al, so if y’all are getting together to check out some areas, I’d like to go also. I need some knowledge of what Al has to offer.

I am on a lease in Bankhead, which is surrounded by Black Warrior management area that would be closer to you that we could look at sometime if you are interested, but we can check out the places around here also if you don't mind that drive.

I went scout on bankhead a couple times. Never made it back during hunting season.
