Hey yall, first season in a saddle here from TX.

Went with the Tethrd ESS, has a bit of a learning curve, but so far so good. Finally found some good trees to climb and had my first deer in range last week.
Looking to learn from yall and contribute where i can.

Finally! Another Texan, welcome from Rosenberg Texas . There is a lot of info on here just do a search on what ever topic or question you have and most likely it’s been answered already. Be careful out there / up there and hope you have success from the saddle.

Nice! What part and what trees are you climbing? Hardest part for me is finding a good tree where i want to hunt

I’m south of the DFW metro mess about 45 miles. I have some small private places out east and also do a lot of public. I haven’t hardy sat in the same tree twice this year so it’s been a variety from medium sized oaks to large hackberries to pine trees. I’m one sticking this year and that has helped IMO with versatility.

I'm on public north of the metro mess and also a 100 acre lease near Bryan. Public is a challenge, but i found a few trees that work. Might have to get on the one stick kick next year.

I live in Collin County and hunt private land out west in Stephens County. If you don't mind me asking, where do you go for public land around here? I'm not sure where to start with Public land around Dallas if I wanted to go after whitetail or hogs.

Welcome from NJ. I have an ESS as well as 2 others. It’s kind of a pain to deal with as you know but more comfortable than anything I’ve tried so far. But I’m not done trying other options yet lol. Good luck!
