Welcome from central VA. I know quite a few members here hunt the Dismal or have in the past. Have you bought a saddle setup yet or still researching?

Purchased the phantom rig from tethrd. Just waiting for it to come. Out with the climber and in with the saddle.

Awesome! Will be my first year in a saddle from a climber also. Good luck this fall!

You too. I'm new to the public land scene down this way. Any pointers you come acros, feel free to send my way. Good luck to you as well.

I am in Chesapeake as well. Live in Western Branch. I am a new saddle hunter as well. I ordered the Phantom to get me started. I am currently deployed but will be back to the area in the next few weeks.

Quite a different hunt strategy between tidewater and piedmont region. Best advice is to get out there scout, study the terrain, and come away with something new learnt each and every day. This won’t make you a perfect hunter from the start but it sure will do wonders down the road. Don’t get frustrated by the public pressure, let it push you to areas you other wise would not have ventured.
