New target idea, cheap simple and fun

I love it!!

A few years back a friend of mine asked me to make him a “Golf” target for traditional shooters…….I had already made one for my compound buddies (I started a business making fun paper targets as a side gig).
This is what I came up with. The locals liked it so much that we started an annual “GOLF SHOOT” in the middle of winter (like now!).

Anyhow, here is an image of the target I made for him.

I like dis.

I went out a little while ago and took about a dozen shots with my "heavy" bow. It is a Bobby Lofton Osage longbow, 68# @ 28 inches. I normally shoot my 56# Northern Mist or maybe my 63# Howard Hill Tembo. I have an 83# Robertson but it is just too much for me currently.

Sixty-eight pounds with no let off is a pretty good pull for me, but I will say that I agree that it is easier to get a clean release with a heavy draw bow. I was shooting at about 16 to 18 yards and that arrow went exactly where I was looking.

An action shot just as the arrow left the bow.
