Hey Guys I am new to the saddle hunting idea this year(tired of lugging gear miles into the woods). I just picked up a Webb on eBay last week and have a new tribe on order. I can already tell I do no like the seat belt strap teather that comes with the Webb and I have already been researching past forums on ways to improve. Seeing lots of new terms such as bridge, ropeman1, and different types of knots that can be tied. With that said can you guys give me direction for the best setups and where I can get what is needed. Also very much liking some of the modifications everybody is doing for platforms.

tether options.
Blue water assault 7/16
Yale bandit 11mm(I think)
Samson ultra tech 9mm(I think).
I say I think, cause Im not using those, but think that's the size guys are using.

Ropeman1 is awesome, get 2 so you can have one on a tether and one on a linemans belt.

Bridge options.
Fixed bridge or adjustable.
1" military tubular webbing with water knots
Any of the tether ropes
1/4" Amsteel blue eye spliced for fixed, or whoopie sling for adjustable.

Just keep searching and reading on here, figure out what works for you.

Bridge is the piece of the saddle that runs between the 2 sides and the part that you attach your tether from the tree to. The ropeman1 is a climbing ascender. As an example you can use it to replace the blakes hitches that are used on the aero hunter. The ascender can only be moved 1 way on the rope, so you can use it to adjust your positioning up and it will hold your progress. This is very useful for adjusting the tether and the linemans belt. If you are going to be making your own tethers and linemans belts, I recommend learning a figure 8 on a bight, it is a very useful knot. http://wiki.imga.org.il/images/thumb/a/a3/Figure8.jpg/400px-Figure8.jpg

Search around the forum for info, but feel free to ask more questions. Everyone here is good people and willing to help.

Thanks Guys
I just picked up 2 ropeman1 and need to figure out what to use for my bridge and tether

Just purchased a used web to try out and I haven't set it up so I can't comment.
The brief time I sat in mine the other day while wearing shorts and a t-shirt I can already tell that the web will be reserved for colder weather hunts.

That's what I got it for. Basically my all day sits during the rut and gun season.

I just got the aero Hunter with their bridge but I wanted to make my own tether. I ordered some black 11mm climbing rope. It had high reviews and I'm happy with it. I only bought one Ropeman1 and kinda wish I had two, it is a must insisted of the blames hith on the tether in my opinion.

A Blake's or Prusik is fine to make your bridge adjustable. On the tether, I pretty much only adjust it when I set up. One handed Linesman's belt adjustment is my #1 priority. I used my ropeman on my linesmans belt for a while but now I have the Treespider belt which adjusts one handed. So now my ropeman is back on my tether

If you only have 1 Ropeman, you'll get more use out of it on your lineman belt. I bought an extra 1 this year for the tether. I like it, but I can live without it. On my lineman belt, not so much.

You need to move around more and have fun adjusting your drape. What are you doing, sitting still trying to hide from the deer? Lol

With a little higher performance hitch like a distel, one handed operation is very doable with less expense and metal.
