Located in Klamath Falls Oregon, I hunt public land as well as land owned by timber companies. I've focused on spot and stock, hiking many miles most of the time not seeing game. I focus on wind, location of water and food but with dense cover and a ton of blow down, the hikes are less than stealthy. Most of the trees are pine, lodge pole, Ponderosa ect. I spent last year in a tree stand and learned about proper set up, stand height, wind morning vs night, distance, 3rd axis effect on arrow impact, a saw a ton of action. Now I need to work on learning about saddle and see if it would be worth it over here in the West.
As far as equipment, I've been living on the wild side. Just got a rope last month, still need a harness of some kind to be more safe.
Been hunting maybe 6 years. I'm 40 years old. I work on fighter jets for the Air Force... still.
