I have an older trophyline ambush saddle. I understand the newer saddles are better and more efficient. Would some of you that have hunted out of both be kind enough to tell me what your experiences have been

Personally, it's not even close for me. The newer stuff is better in every way. The bridges are better (removable and adjustable with no mods necessary), the leg straps are better, they have waist belts separate from the bridge, and they are smaller and more comfortable... to me anyway. In all fairness though, I was never able to find a small TL ambush to fit me properly and since there is no adjustment on them, not much you can do. And based on the sizing and amount of material used in the old TLs I'll bet even the small would be too big for me.
