Hi all, native New Yorker here trying to keep sane in this insane state. Lifelong rifle/shotgun hunter. Grew up hunting small game, then grew into deer, turkey and pheasant, and whatever else I can get out for. Was gifted an old Browning Summit II a few years ago which I practiced on till I got comfortable enough to where I felt like I could ethically bow hunt. Purchased an Elite Ethos a few months ago, and cant wait to try my hand at hunting with it.

Decided that I wanted to start my journey saddle hunting, as it greatly expands my available hunting acreage. Bought a Cruzr XC and EWO One Stick and am practicing till the season opens. Joined this forum to learn as much as I can from you fine folk and hopefully one day contribute. Thank you for having me, and thanks for all the help I’ve already received just by browsing the forum!

Welcome from the White Mountains! Saddle hunting is a blast- just give it an HONEST try. See so many that try a couple times and then "It's just not for me." I love it but I did take a season or so to get dialed in.
Side note- are you near the Hudson, have you tried the Striper fishing there? I get over to the upper end, below Albany, end of April camping and been trying to figure them out from shore but prefer artificial rather than bait.

Welcome from New Jersey. Looks like you’re already off to a good start with your choice of equipment.
