Newbie in South Central KY

What town in KY?
I am hunting in Cumberland county for the opener this weekend.

I also just stumbled on here after watching several of DIY sportsmans' videos and wanting to cut weight. Also in KY, just south of Cincinnati, OH.

Welcome to the site. It is customary for newbies to host saddlehunters on preferably a nice piece of private ground for a week hunt. That way you have plenty of time to try their gear out. :p Ok maybe not but it sounds nice. Realistically anything you just try out is going to feel good for 15 minutes. It’s 30 minutes to a couple hours before you really get a good idea of the comfort. For me I was more comfortable than most hang on stands from day one. After a few weeks I felt comfort was on par with my summit 180. That’s in a kestrel. If you can find someone close by most of us are willing to take the time to show you our setups and let you hang from them. That’s it your willing to take the time to hear about all the mods we have done and act excited when we show you some cool new thing that shaved an ounce off our setup.

My hunting honey hole is just across the street from Mammoth cave park. I am looking for something that is quick, quiet and light. I usually only stay in the tree for half the day.
