He all, i am dipping my toe in the water so to speak. I just got my new beast sticks last week and figures that i now have a stick i could potentially stand somewhat comfortably.
So i ordered a sitdrag. I was trying it out in the yard last night. I am using the sitdrag in conjunction with my RC harness at least for now.
I made a tubular webbing bridge to start and this seemed fine. However, as i sat there i rememberd seeing one of the DIY sportsmans videos about an adjustable bridge. So i decided to try something.
I climbed the tree (only 2 sticks high for a trial) using my linemans rope with 2 biners and a ropeman as usually. Once up and still using linemans belt, i set my tree tether with 2 prussiks at head high and clipped into one prussik with harness and slid the prussik up tight so i could temporarily sit in my harness while i unclipped my linemans rope.
At this point i moved the linemans rope from loops on harness to loops on sitdrag then put my linemans rope into bridge biner. From here i could adjust bridge length accordingly and give an inch or two slack in my harness tether. And this leaves me with a ropeman adjustable bridge.
Does anyone else do this or see an issue with doing so? Linemans rope is Sterling 9mm HTP with MBS of 5192lbs.
