My WE Stepp order seems to be in limbo so I tested a few alternatives today.

My favorite method is the web ladder in the attached video.

I have to say that this kid is a hell of an athlete. I'm 6'1 210# and in pretty good shape, I run, ride, swim, lift & know how to climb..... but this web ladder gave me one hell of a workout getting to 20' with this method.

It has me considering bringing my climbing line for a quick descent though.

I'll be practicing daily until our 10/1 opener.

There are obvious trade offs to reducing weight to "zero". This is a cool method for a backcountry elk hunt where you may or may not ever use your saddle. You certainly wouldn't want to take sticks on a backpack hunt but carrying a few extra pounds around for that perfect scenario could be worth it.
