Got this one Saturday. Responded to a grunt and bleat sequence, just after 4 on the edge of a doe bedding area. This is the biggest rack I've ever seen in the woods. Haven't sat in this spot in 2 years, it had grown up since then so I couldn't see down all my lanes. He walked right down one of those lanes, then turned across one of the other lanes that were grown over. Took my shot through the brush and dropped him in his tracks. This coming off another on private land, opening morning, that one had been hit by a car a week or two before. Busted left leg sticking thru skin, emaciated, hadn't eaten much in a long time. We had his small tenderloins, it was like eating a leather shoe. Got about 15 lbs of burger and a tall rack.
