Novix vs XOP vs Muddy vs Helium

I'll second the API. Once you chop them they're just as solid as anything else. The only tweak I'll be making is a knob to allow me to rotate the steps for transport. I also switched my standoffs to the LW for the ability to rotate them. I could have shaved the ears on the API standoffs but I already had the others.
 
My wife prefers the muddy's, because "knots are too hard". So if you struggle to tie a half hitch that might be a consideration lol
 
I still think the helium are the best budget sticks but have to admit that I’m not particularly happy with my newest set. Nothing that I can’t fix but I really like the stuff I buy to be right out of the box.

Get/make her some daisy chains! I’m plenty good at knots but I like the additional simplicity of the daisy chain

Novix or LW... or shikar or eastern woods outdoors or beast sticks. Eastern woods has some beautiful sticks, expensive though.

True for lots of us bud, unfortunately that’s generally the cost of American made. Novix is same as LW, little lower price, USA made. Don’t think you’ll find cheaper. Can also upgrade the top step on your tip stick to a double step from EWO for not much money. That’s if you care about the double step

Exact same story here. I do like my 20” heliums but was disappointed with the quality issues.
