Where the skys are so blue!
I bounced between a lot of gear last year, but this video showcases the stuff I tended to really gravitate towards. I had a good year. 3 rack bucks, 7 does, 2 hogs, a coyote, and more ducks than you can shake a stick at. Hunted 11 properties in 7 different counties, and spent 5 nights in a truck or a tent. Managed to hunt every weekend, plus the 3 days I took off the be in my sister's wedding (feathers on your face get you some stern looks during a rehearsal, FYI) and plenty of sick/holiday leave.

When you're pushing hard for a long season, simple gear that just works without you thinking too much is very important. The more stuff I have to organize, pack, and carry, the less motivated I am to get out when it's below freezing and I'm running on 8 hours of sleep for the past 3 days (happened twice.) Your odds of forgetting some crucial little piece of gear also go up. I went packless for much of the year, and will probably continue to do so regularly in the future.

I'll be doing some more videos on other pieces of gear that got a lot of use, like the JX3 and my bag of squirrel steps. Doing these videos helps me kinda organize my thoughts and improve on stuff.

Good video I’ll be looking forward to your videos on working on your equipment. Also really good idea on just making videos about the small things that can get overlooked when introducing a new hunter into possibly their new addiction.

Nice video. Glad you stuck it out with the ambush and minis(well the minis the second time anyway). Really makes me wish mine didnt suck so much when I got it--that was a very similiar setup to what I wanted to build.
