Newb here and wanted to ask if I could use regular webbing for a one step aider or do I need tubular webbing?

Either is fine. I started with tubular but the last knaider and swaider I made was polyester flat webbing. The polyester flat webbing is usually a stiffer material, which I find preferable. I found no difference in wear after a season of hard use. Pete
