Cheapest I could find was etrailer. $9.30 with $2.99 economy shipping. So not far off from amazon if you have Prime.

Great video Ernie! I know I have struggled a time or two when I had to unthread those buckles lol.

Fine visual orientation video. The first time I tried to figure out how to thread one of those I started feeling nauseated and my eyes began to cross involuntarily after about 15 minutes.

The absolute worst is when you've had the thing on there for a year and then it falls off when you're trying to put it on. There I am hanging 25 foot up googling to find the thread where I posted pictures on saddlehunter lol. I should just add Ernie's video to my favorites for next time.

How did you get the flat hook on the tree step strap?
My Ameristeps dont have a hook!
They just have a loose end to thread back under the buckle end.

It depends on which buckle your ameristeps came with. I believe there is a strap with a flat hook already on it at strapworks.com

I ordered one of these. Will let you know how it works out when I get it

I have one. It's a nice strap and showed up quickly. I ordered it this fall thinking I would use it with a custom bow holder. My idea didn't work as intended...so it has just been sitting around. I had not thought of removing the fixed side and using it as shown until seeing Ernie's video.
