I am excited,gotta start climbing to get my system dialed in again. I have been shooting the bow,all set on that end. I may start glassing some but there are not a lot of opportunities close by for the public I hunt. Some parcels border crop fields. I am doing what I can to eat last years bountiful meat harvest and I am doing ok. I thought I wasn't going to be able to eat it all,but having shared a bunch,especially the 50+ pounds of sausage has helped with that.
Oct 1st is our opener and I will be out for sure.
 
Sept 18th for me! Went to the archery range at 0630 this morning to sling arrows. Beat the heat and all alone!
 
October 1st opening day here in Mississippi. Took that Friday off. Jeez I can’t wait.
picked up 550 acres more acres in pike and walthall county this off season to add to the 650 I already had with the family land plus the 7 day Illinois hunt should be on the board again this year.



I am in for this years contest again.
Spending my off day making paracord pull up ropes and unpacking all my hunting storage bins.
Got a recurve in April so can’t wait to shoot one out my saddle with the recurve.

THIS GETS ME FIRED UP!!!! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
 
I picked up a piece of never before hunted public land through a managed hunt for this year that I'm about to scout this weekend. Lot of foot traffic so dealing with the locals will be interesting but it sounds like the deer are basically conditioned to people lol. Just need to be able to have the time to get there enough. Needless to say my brain is in full fledge deer mode now and I can't wait to be able to hunt that place.
