Unknown yardage, but it’s a guesstimated 17yds. It’s raining so I just walked out on my deck (covered), leaned out over the rail to get clearance and shot my target where it sat.

My Glendale buck target is gassed. I’m debating on buying a new core for $80 and just continuing to keep it together with cam straps or upgrading to a nice rhinehart deer target. $80 seems high for a block of foam but so does $250 for a nice target. Anyone have more than one core experience with a Glendale? Thoughts on rhinehart deer?
Might want to try Big Shot 3-D targets in Pennsylvania.
We use some of them on our club 3-D course and they held up quite well.
Pricing is less the than Rinehart and the replacement cores are reasonable.

I just went back out after the most recent squall and shot a 4 shot “group”…..lol

Less than stellar. In fact, I don’t think you can call it a group if one of your arrows lands far enough away that the others would have to yell to be able to carry on a conversation with it

Thanks for the rec I’ll check them out

Yes, still at 10 yards. Tonight is the first time I had all 5 arrows in a reasonable group with a traditional bow.... It was around the 3rd group that it happened then everything went South quickly.

First shot of the morning. Forty-four pound Mathews Heli M bow. I walked around back to where I could get a clean shot to the bag target and attempted this quartering away shot. I paced it off after the shot and it was 32 yards, a lot longer shot than I would consider on a deer.

I had both my Heli M's out this morning, alternating with them shooting mostly from the Pack Seat. The camo one is 44 pounds and the black one is 60 pounds. Both shoot the same arrow setup like a dart. I got lucky on that.

About 14" shy of the base of the target. Did you range these shots or just guess? The 30 is great and the 55 was on its way just a little short, heck he never would have know it and you could have flung another arrow at him. I asked about the range because I am trying to get better about guessing yardage taking the shot and then use the range finder to check myself, just target practice though.

I paced both off. My pacing is usually pretty close. I’ve spent my life as a surveyor so it gets tested a lot. Lol.

Thats the first time I’ve flung an arrow 55 yds in a while. Every time I do the drop beyond about 35 yds surprises me a little.

I decided to fling a few at long range. I used the 44 pound Heli M bow, and an arrow with a Zwicky Judo on it. The Judo is 135 grains and has a 125 grain steel glue in adapter in it to match the 250 grain broadheads and field points.

I put out a water bottle on the ground and paced off 50 yards. My paces are usually very accurate and I have checked my paces against a rangefinder quite a few times. The sight on the 44 pound bow has one pin set at 25 and the other one that I left on I dropped all the way down and it happens to correspond to 50 yards.

The first shot landed about 2 yards shy and a little left. The second shot went right by the bottle about 2 inches right but good height wise. Shot number three was a direct hit.

It's fun shooting judo points.

It is had to post this after the 50 yard shots by @NMSbowhunter
10 yards and yes, the first shot is the one on the ground in front of the target.
Don't feel bad about that. I was shooting a compound, a whole other animal than a trad bow, I know that for sure. I've been shooting an ASL, a Hill style longbow by Steve Turay at Northern Mist. When I first started with trad, I could not hit the broad side of a barn if I was inside the barn. I've been shooting trad for several years and I still struggle. I've broken and lost a pile of arrows. Just keep at it.

Thank you!!

Not a great first shot. My target is trashed so I’m shooting at steep angles until I get another one, but that wasn’t quite where I was aiming. The subsequents shots felt great.

My wife did say that the target looked in awful shape which sounds like my go ahead to get another haha.

Ok, a long range plink at a aluminum can this morning. This was shot number 1 at 50 or 52 yards with my 44 pound Mathews Heli M bow, five hundred and eighty grain arrow tipped with a Zwicky judo point. Twenty Two percent FOC. Making these long range shots gives me confidence when I am trying to pinwheel a deer at 15 yards. No way I'm shooting at a deer this far, but it is fun to play around at these distances.

Wife got me a nice block target for Christmas last year. It’s not “trashed” but it’s got some weak areas for sure. Couple holes in the Rubbermaid tote that houses our Christmas tree I have placed behind it that she discovered and is not happy about. Hopeful I can wear it out enough that she wants me to get something new soon.
