One shot, everyone knows the rules!

First shot from 18 was a little low left. Red dot was aim point but I’ll live with that. Shot around the course and finished up with the two shots in the second pic from 20. Overall feeling really good about my shot right now. Apparently, after losing my shot for a few weeks, I found @BTaylor ‘s :)

Ok so the new handloads shoot pretty good. Only put 6 down range. Second round was pretty much a duplicate of the first one.

I started shooting a bow 50 years ago this coming Tuesday and I have never done that. Just doesnt seem possible that I have never robin hooded an arrow or that I have been shooting a bow that long. Luckily, I'm still 29.

It's something I have never done either. Busted plenty of nocks but, never have gotten one to stick. My dad did it twice in one month last winter.

And it's never luck @boyne bowhunter, it's ALWAYS skill. :)

I think that's actually number 4 for me in the 50 years I've been shooting a bow. Countless nocks (and arrows for that matter) have been destroyed including one that I damaged but didn't detect before it exploded on the next release and ended up in my forearm. I actually don't shoot my compound for groups anymore because of that.

The others were all in aluminum arrows over 40 years ago. This is my first with traditional equipment and carbon arrows although in those days I shot my compound with fingers and no sight so they were trad in nature. I was a much better archer in those days than I am now, I shot hundreds of arrows a week and could still actually see in those days. :tearsofjoy:

I managed to get two in one semester of archery in the local community college in like 1980 or 1981 shooting in the gym at like 10 yds or some ridiculously close distance (at least for me at that time) like that. I gave both sets to the instructor . . . needless to say I got 4.0. :tearsofjoy:

The other was in an 8th floor lab in engineering university in 1985. This was for a dynamic response project on arrows shot from a bow that we were doing. Shots there were around 5 yds. My project partners were actually pissed because we had to prep two more arrows to finish the project. :tearsofjoy:

Ok, you guys inspired me to go out back and shoot a bit today. First arrow each, longbow at 18yds, compound at 25yds. I did shoot the longbow some over the weekend but its been a while for the compound so that's definitely a cold shot. Season can't get here soon enough!

I think it's those perty arrows.

I might be building a set of those this winter for my other bow. Expect a call when I start the process.

On second thought, can I shoot wood arrows with carbon limbs? That kinds seems wrong. Maybe I need to have another bow built??
There is plenty of pretty wood in your bow to shoot wood arras. Hollar any time.
